With an ongoing global pandemic and worldwide lockdowns, it goes without saying that the past few months had taken a toll on most of us.  The Berunda Fiesta summer festival put together by Berunda was a unique event that was beyond a typical food festival. Th e focal idea was creating a platform to connect communities through creativity and culture giving a breath of fresh air to our once restricted lives. The event took place at the Bogambara cultural park in Kandy on the 25 th  and 26 th  of September. It was a beautiful Friday evening in the hills of Kandy. With the stalls in place, ovens fired up, lights lit up and the sounds tuned to full, the stage was set for a memorable evening full of delicious food and electrifying music. As the sun was setting the park filled with excited groups of people who had made their way to Bogambara not only from Kandy but from many parts of the island in anticipation of an entertaining evening.
